Tamarack Valley Energy agreed to acquire Headwater Exploration in a $7.24 billion all-stock deal, combining two heavy-oil operators in Alberta’s Clearwater fairway. The merger brings more than 1,500 contiguous land sections and is expected to produce over 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day across consolidated development areas including Marten Hills, Nipisi and Pelican.
