Supermicro Fires Staff After Probe Into $2.5B GPUs Smuggling to China
Supermicro fired some employees after investigating claims that executives helped ship about $2.5 billion in Nvidia-GPU servers to China in violation of US export controls. The company said current senior leaders had no knowledge of alleged diversion and found no evidence its prior financial statements were unreliable. It did find staff who failed to implement export controls properly; DOJ previously indicted three individuals, and they no longer work for the firm.
