Subaru spends nearly $10,000 per EV vehicle to sell in the US
Subaru is spending nearly $10,000 per vehicle to market its new electric SUVs in the US. It sells the updated Solterra plus the Uncharted and Trailseeker; the latter two lifted total EV volumes, but Solterra sales fell 34%. Marketing costs per vehicle rose 40% to $2,698, versus $3,036 for the Outback. Incentives increased faster than the market, squeezing profits.
