Stripe–Advent Drop PayPal Buyout Hopes as Price Targets Cut
Reports say Advent and Stripe have abandoned their PayPal buyout plans, ending a process discussed since April. Truist cut its PYPL price target to $53 from $62 and kept a Hold, viewing Stripe’s rationale as weak. RBC lifted its target to $70 from $65 with an Outperform view. Shares fell nearly 2% Monday and marked PayPal’s worst month since May, down over 9% in 2026.
