Stellantis Delays Belvidere Restart to 2028-2029 and Boosts UAW Pay
Stellantis revised its plan for Belvidere Assembly Plant, moving pilot production of the next Cherokee to early 2028 and retail production to late 2029, while keeping the goal of building the Jeep Compass there. The company says it will increase SUB pay for UAW wage gains, address pension credits for laid-off employees, and offer temporary relocation opportunities, supported by a two-shift start and potential volume over 100,000 vehicles annually.
