Starbucks Invests $1B in New Café Seating and Books to Bring Back Customers
Starbucks is spending $1 billion on renovations at its coffee shops, adding comfy armchairs, plants, and hardcover books to create a warmer “third place” experience. More than 1,000 renovations have been completed in nine months, and CEO Niccol highlighted cups, condiment bars, retrofitted stores, free refills, and seating with outlets. Same-store sales rose 7.9% in the third quarter, led by strong U.S. demand.
