SSE Wins Planning Consent for Revised Mullafarry Battery Storage Project

Mayo County Council has approved SSE’s revised planning proposals for the Mullafarry Battery Energy Storage System near Killala in North Mayo. Subject to SSE’s final investment decision, the project would help integrate renewable electricity, improve grid stability and supply security, and support Ireland’s power system. Once operational, it would also generate commercial rates payments for Mayo County Council and local infrastructure.
