Southwest Gas Expands Great Basin Project Funding to $2.3 Billion
Southwest Gas Holdings reported second-quarter net income of $42.1 million and reaffirmed 2026 guidance. It now expects higher contracted demand for its Great Basin 2028 Expansion Project, raising capital costs to $2.3 billion from $1.7 billion and projecting $270 million to $300 million in annual margin after commissioning. Nevada regulators approved a triennial resource plan with prudency pre-determinations, and Arizona’s system integrity mechanism allows faster recovery of safety and reliability spending, subject to a cap.
