Ski Industry Price-Fixing Lawsuit Targets Vail and Alterra
A U.S. class-action lawsuit alleges that Vail Resorts, Alterra Mountain Company and other ski industry players colluded to increase and fix lift-ticket and season-pass prices, stifling competition. The antitrust claims have not been tested in court. The complaint cites price gains of more than 55% at certain resorts since 2019-20, and nearly 40% for Vail’s starting Epic Pass since 2021-22.
