SK Hynix to Triple HBM Capacity With $720B AI Memory Expansion
SK Hynix is building a major new vertical fab, rising as high as a 50-story residential building, to triple its high-bandwidth memory (HBM) production capacity. After a record $26.5 billion Nasdaq debut and a 58% share of global HBM, the firm’s $720 billion investment is positioned to relieve supply shortages, though shares fell about 21% amid AI trade turbulence. An ETF holding it lists a 22.19% weight.
