SK Hynix Approves $38 Billion for New Memory Fabs With 2028-2029 Start
SK Hynix approved about 38 billion won for new memory fab capacity, including a 35.2 trillion won Y2 fab in Yongin to produce HBM and next-generation DRAM, with spending continuing through October 2031. Cleanroom openings are planned for early 2027 and December 2028/June 2029. The move comes as DRAM and NAND prices rose and first-half revenue surpassed 100 trillion won.
