Singtel has sought foreign direct investment approval from India’s Centre to launch satellite communications services in the country, the Economic Times reported. If cleared, it will operate via its wholly owned unit, Singapore Telecom India, leveraging planned service delivery through a network of 28 to 36 geostationary satellites and potentially partnerships such as Starlink.
