Shareholders Approve Foreign Ownership Cap to Shift Swiggy to Indian Control
Swiggy shareholders approved a proposal to cap aggregate foreign ownership at 49.5%, pushing the company toward an Indian-owned and controlled company structure under India’s FEMA rules. With about 49.76% foreign investment as of July 6, IOCC status could let Swiggy hold more inventory, tighten product quality and pricing, improve procurement economics, and expand private-label offerings.
