Shareholder Sues Nidec Founder and Ex-President for ¥28.7B Damages
Nidec said a shareholder derivative lawsuit was filed with the Kyoto District Court against founder Shigenobu Nagamori and former president Hiroshi Kobe, seeking about ¥28.7 billion in compensation for alleged illegality in 2022–23 share buybacks and interim dividends. The claim is that payouts exceeded the distributable amount under Japan’s Companies Act, and a 2023 report estimated the excess at about ¥28.8 billion.
