SerpApi Files Antitrust Counterclaims Accusing Reddit of Monopolization
SerpApi filed counterclaims in response to Reddit’s suit over alleged circumvention of technical measures restricting automated collection of Reddit content. SerpApi denies Reddit’s claims and alleges monopolization and attempted monopolization under Section 2 of the Sherman Act. It says Reddit changed crawler instructions July 1, 2024, and cites an arrangement worth about $60 million annually, while Reddit says bypassing protections reduced licensing revenue and increased anti-scraping costs.
