SERENA-4 setback for AstraZeneca Etcamah first-line breast cancer push
AstraZeneca’s SERENA-4 failed to deliver a statistically significant improvement in investigator-assessed progression-free survival for Etcamah in the broad first-line breast-cancer setting, though it showed a numerical gain. The narrower approval for ESR1-mutant tumors during first-line therapy remains. The ADR closed down $4.60 at $160.17, while SERENA-6 supports switching after emergent ESR1 for a 56% risk reduction and raises the bar for CAMBRIA-1 and CAMBRIA-2 in a ~10,000-patient program.
