Sentynl and Mereo sign option and license deal for alvelestat
Sentynl and Mereo entered an option and license agreement for U.S. commercial and global manufacturing rights to alvelestat for AATD-LD. The parties will refine the Phase 3 design during the option period, with the program potentially starting in early 2027. If approved, alvelestat would be the first oral treatment for the rare, progressive lung disease, and Sentynl will fund Phase 3 with a non-refundable option fee and potential up to $40 million in upfront and R&D payments to Mereo.
