Santos Raises Papua LNG Stake as ExxonMobil Becomes Operator
Santos is increasing its stake in the planned Papua LNG development as part of a restructuring in which ExxonMobil takes over operatorship from TotalEnergies. Santos expects its share of Papua LNG output to rise by about 19% to roughly 1.2 million tonnes per year. TotalEnergies will transfer operatorship and sell a 9.1% interest, leaving TotalEnergies with 20% and ExxonMobil with 34.1%, boosting execution synergies with Exxon’s nearby PNG LNG project and improving project economics.
