Sandvik to expand recycled carbide use in PowerCarbide grades up to 75%

Sandvik says it will raise the recycled carbide share in its premium PowerCarbide® grades from about 50% to up to 75%, using ReCarbide produced from recovered carbide from used drill bits. Production is already underway, and the higher recycled content will become standard in PowerCarbide drill bits globally in 2026–2027. ReCarbide can cut CO2e from carbide raw materials by up to 70% versus virgin inputs.
