Samsung SDI will supply lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells for containerized battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, including Samsung Battery Box (SBB) 2.0, and will expand US prismatic LFP output for ESS use. The company will convert an additional SPE line, bringing ESS-dedicated LFP lines to three, with equipment orders for the third line and discussions on volumes for Tesla and other global ESS firms.
