Samsung Ordered to Pay Swatch $11.6 Million for Copied Watch Faces
London’s High Court resolved the Swatch Group’s trademark case against Samsung, ordering Samsung to pay $11.6 million for allowing smartwatches to display digital copies of luxury watch faces. The ruling covered designs from Omega, Breguet and Tissot, with 26 third-party apps downloaded about 160,000 times in the U.K. and E.U.; Samsung says it removed the apps after it learned of the issue.
