Samsung Leads €3B Funding for Mistral to Build European AI Models
Mistral raised 3 billion euros in fresh funding led by Samsung, valuing the Paris AI startup at 11.7 billion euros after the prior year. The round also included the EU-backed Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT and existing investor PSG Equity. Mistral plans to expand infrastructure with its own data centers, rent computing capacity, and train larger, faster models while emphasizing open-weight and custom business tools.
