Samsung has filed the largest claim at the US Federal Maritime Commission, seeking $186m in damages from CMA CGM for detention and demurrage charges it says were erroneous and unlawful. The complaint alleges CMA CGM billed excess fees, reneged on store-door delivery commitments from 2020, and forced Samsung to settle about 121,000 related charges, alongside additional storage costs after converting door-to-CY cargo.
