Samsung expected to overtake SK hynix in HBM4 market share
Samsung Electronics is expected to edge past SK hynix in high-bandwidth memory, with UBS forecasting Samsung at 41% of global HBM bit shipments in 2027 versus SK hynix at 39%, accelerating from parity expectations. SK remains leader this year, but Samsung is progressing fastest on HBM4 certification and yield improvements. SK says it has started mass-producing and supplying HBM4 to key customers, with yields approaching HBM3E.
