Samsung Display plans to expand its Asan manufacturing facility to meet rising demand for foldable smartphone panels, resuming halted construction of a new A7 plant decided on Aug. 7. Completion is expected in 2028, with possible use for foldable and micro OLED panels. The move follows Samsung Electronics’ large Chungcheong investment and projected foldable panel shipment growth.
