Richard Couzens to lead BMO international capital markets from November 1

Richard Couzens will become head of BMO’s international capital markets, expanding his current EMEA leadership role effective November 1. Alan Tannenbaum, head of BMO Capital Markets, said the change will widen cross-regional client coverage. Taves will step down January 31, 2027, and work with Couzens in early 2027 to support the Asia team alongside Glenn Anson and Lisa Xia. The move follows broader Canadian bank capital markets diversification efforts.
