Rheinmetall and KNDS Deutschland’s Lithuania joint venture, LDS, will refurbish combat-damaged Leopard 2 tanks with logistical support from Lithuania’s Ministry of National Defence and Armed Forces. Ukraine’s defence officials say the repairs will speed tanks’ return to the front. Germany is providing full funding so heavy equipment can be restored in Lithuania before entering Ukrainian service.
