A review of Telstra’s July 8 upgrade-triggered network outage found the failure stemmed from a lack of money and expertise at the country’s largest telecoms business. The report says two engineers were on a mandatory break during the chaos. The outage crippled the network, cancelling train services, blocking payment systems, and stopping some Triple Zero calls.
