Reliance and Rolls-Royce Plan Sovereign Engine for India’s AMCA Fighter
Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce said they plan to co-develop and manufacture a sovereign indigenous combat-aircraft engine for India’s AMCA program. The thrust target is over 120 kilonewtons, aimed at the AMCA Mk2, with first test flight in 2034 and production in 2036. Expected ownership would let India upgrade and maintain the engine domestically, reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.
