Reddit shares jumped more than 11% after S&P Dow Jones Indices said the social media platform will join the S&P 500, replacing AvalonBay Communities. The change takes effect before markets open on August 18. Reddit was trading at $175.69, with heavy volume, and S&P said Reddit will remain in the index after the Vivmark Residential merger completes.
