In a real-world study of 15,843 adults over 55 who started Zepbound, healthcare costs were up to 15% lower at six months and up to 38% lower on average after 12 months versus individuals who did not receive the drug. Lilly said savings exceeded Zepbound treatment costs starting at 12 months, excluding the drug cost from totals. The analysis supports CMS’s Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program, though some employers plan to drop coverage in 2027.
