Prospective real-world research tested AEye’s AEYE Diagnostic Screening for diabetic retinopathy in a high-traffic endocrinology clinic, using a Topcon NW500 non-mydriatic camera. In 256 adult diabetes patients, a novice operator trained for one hour achieved results for 95.7% of patients under ambient lighting, without pharmacological eye dilation. The study supports integration into busy workflows as many patients miss annual dilated exams.
