Rakuten Launches XRP Payments and Loyalty Conversion at 5 Million Stores

Rakuten will add XRP to its loyalty and payments system, letting users convert loyalty points into XRP, then load Rakuten Cash to pay for everyday purchases. The feature launches April 15 and also enables XRP spot trading inside the app and storage in Rakuten Wallet. The move expands Rakuten’s crypto offering by adding a third-party token to its infrastructure for the first time.
