Rajesh Exports Pays ₹510 Crore After Recovery Fight as SEBI Flags Revenue Inflation
Canara Bank pressed recovery after Rajesh Exports allegedly blocked attempts to recover dues through insolvency, pursuing parallel DRT/NCLT action under the IBC and SARFAESI. After a prolonged legal battle and Karnataka High Court approval, ₹510 crore was transferred, backed by a first charge on about ₹400 crore of Bengaluru land and properties. SEBI’s June 3 interim order cited prima facie evidence that 97–99% of reported revenue was inflated and barred Rajesh Mehta from trading the company’s securities.
