Qantas Pilots Face 30% Pay Cuts as Fleet Retirement Cuts Conditions
Hundreds of Qantas international pilots face major pay cuts and poorer working conditions after the airline’s profits fell and it accelerated retirement of 10 Airbus A380 superjumbos. Pilots and first officers flying A380s will see salaries cut by about 30%, affecting an estimated 300 staff, and “reduction in numbers” rules give them priority for jobs on newer aircraft.
