Prosus forecasts $20,000 general-purpose robots and backs Flexion

Prosus says advances in AI, cheaper hardware and improved training data are bringing general-purpose robots toward commercial use, estimating a useful robot could cost about $20,000 within a few years. It expects an industry “GPT-3 moment” within a year, with a “GPT-4 moment” later. Prosus Ventures joined a $50 million Series A for Flexion Robotics and mapped 85 robotics companies.
