Polestar answered multiple rounds of 2025 questions and, in April, an official told it to expect approval if Volvo was approved. Polestar says it still has no explanation for being forced to stop U.S. sales, despite Volvo’s ability to continue with vehicles nearly identical to the Polestar 3 and built on the same South Carolina line. In an Aug. 18 letter, it said it is seeking Commerce’s underlying basis for the denial.
