PLDT H1 Profit Slips 9% as Capex Drops 24.45% but Outlook Stays Optimistic

PLDT reported first-half net income of P16.4 billion, down 9%, with core income slipping 1.70% to P17.3 billion, while it stayed optimistic for stronger second-half results. Consolidated gross service revenue rose 2% to P108.7 billion, and data and broadband revenues grew to P84.0 billion, driving 86% of net service revenues. Capex fell 24.45% to P20.7 billion, and fiber subscribers reached 3.9 million.
