PG&E Defers $2B of 2027 Spending After Wildfire Reform Stalls
PG&E Corporation launched a strategic review and plans to defer about $2 billion of its planned 2027 spending after California lawmakers failed to advance meaningful wildfire-liability reforms. The capital investment plan drops from $13.4 billion to $11.4 billion, adding uncertainty around wildfire liabilities and the $21 billion Wildfire Fund. PG&E expects about $2 billion less debt financing while delaying more flexible projects but keeping key safety investments.
