Pfizer is discontinuing several clinical-stage weight-loss and appetite-related candidates, including Metsera’s oral GLP-1 program MET-224o and the GIPR antagonist PF-07976016 after reviewing phase 2a data. The company also removed PF-07258669, an MC4R malnutrition drug from an Nxera partnership. With these cuts, PF-08642534 remains as its only oral GLP-1 pipeline option.
