Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery fight over trial date
Paramount Skydance’s roughly $110 billion bid to buy Warner Bros. Discovery remains stuck as both sides dispute when the trial should begin. Paramount seeks a November 2026 start, while states and the writers union want April 2027. Paramount hired litigator Beth Wilkinson and has spent over $160 million on legal fees, while WBD receives a $650 million quarterly ticking fee as the deal stays frozen until five days after a verdict or June 1, 2027.
