A Siemens Gamesa 14 MW offshore wind turbine at Orsted’s Greater Changhua 4 wind farm in Taiwan stopped after reporting a system issue on Aug. 8, 2026, and then caught fire. Orsted says no ships or personnel were nearby, and the turbine was disconnected and isolated while authorities monitor the site to determine the cause. The 583 MW project is still under commissioning.
