Oklo’s Groves Reactor Reaches First Criticality Under a Year
Oklo says its Groves Isotope Test Reactor reached first criticality, achieving a controlled, self-sustaining chain reaction at low power less than a year after groundbreaking. Authorized by the U.S. Department of Energy under the Reactor Pilot Program, the project generated engineering, safety readiness, training, and commissioning experience to reduce uncertainty for future isotope, powerhouse, and fuel-cycle deployments.
