Ocugen Targets 2027 BLA Filings as Gene Therapy Programs Near Readouts
Ocugen is advancing its ophthalmology gene therapy portfolio for inherited retinal diseases and dry age-related macular degeneration, including retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt disease programs aimed at BLAs next year and a geographic atrophy program on a longer timeline. The company uses modifier genes and reports FDA approval to convert a Phase II study into a combined Phase II/III trial, with first-quarter top-line data expected next year. Ocugen has treated more than 325 patients across trials and expanded access.
