Oakland County commissioners are contesting DTE Energy’s proposed 10% electric rate increase, calling it out of proportion and asking residents to submit copies of electric bills from December 2025 and April 2026 as evidence in the proceedings. Chair Dave Woodward says the increase could be double digits after his nearly $2,000 monthly bill. DTE says it will pause future rate requests for two years.
