Nvidia’s equity investments jumped more than tenfold over the past year to $99 billion as it seeks to capitalize on its capital reserves to accelerate the AI sector. In August it backed partnerships to mobilize over $500 billion for its GPUs, and plans conditional credit support of up to $105 billion for an OpenAI data center in Ohio. CFO Colette Kress cited nearly $50 billion invested in frontier AI labs, including a $30 billion investment in OpenAI and stakes in CoreWeave, Nebius, photonics firms and Intel.
