Novartis defeated a bid by Accord Healthcare, backed by Intas Pharmaceuticals, to invalidate its Entresto patent in London’s High Court. The judge ruled the Novartis patent and supplementary protection certificate remain valid and Accord’s planned generic would infringe. Entresto accounts for about 10% of Novartis sales, with the SPC running to 2028 after patent expiry in 2023.
