Nokia Plans to Lease and Then Acquire NXP’s Chandler Chip Fabs
Nokia will initially lease manufacturing capacity in a Chandler, Arizona NXP fab starting in early 2027, then convert the site to indium phosphide production for optical components. Nokia expects to acquire the full two-fab manufacturing campus, with the deal closing in Q1 2029. The change follows NXP’s plan to shut its radio frequency gallium nitride fab by 2027.
