Nidec Confirms 844 Quality Misconduct Cases, Citing Management Pressure
Nidec released an external-expert investigation report confirming 844 quality-related misconduct cases across the group. The committee attributed the behavior to excessive pressure from founder Shigenobu Nagamori and senior managers to hit short-term performance and cost targets, following a May probe triggered by last year’s accounting fraud disclosure. The prior fraud is estimated to have hurt net profit by ¥160.7 billion, and financial corrections remain prolonged with FY2026 consolidated results still unpublished.
