NextEra Energy’s Unit Adds 3.6 GW Renewables and Storage for Data Centers
Energy Resources, a NextEra Energy unit, expects AI-driven data-center demand to lift power-project opportunities. In Q2 it added 3.6 GW of renewables and storage, taking backlog to nearly 35.1 GW, after hyperscalers drove about 30% of Q1 additions. The unit is in talks with 30 data-center hubs, targeting 40 by year-end 2026, and projects 76.6–107.6 GW of clean generation additions from 2026–2032.
